Teacher Enrichment Programs
TWINKLE TOES STUDIO LAB//Dance Teacher Training Workshops for Ages 2-6
Twinkle Toes offers private workshops for dance instructors looking to expand their repertoire and enrich their classroom skills for the youngest of dancers. Director Karen Gladis has over 20 years of teaching experience with a strong focus on young children's dance education, draws equally from her modern dance career and her creative child and incredible students. This course introduces academic theory and draws from many years of hands-on experience to help you to develop and implement your very own dance curriculum designed specifically for young dancers. We encourage participants to draw from their creative minds and professional backgrounds to create high-quality dance education for even the youngest of students and offer a platform to share and collaborate with other teaching artists.
These 4 hr workshops discuss pedagogy for young children, incorporating principles and styles of learning specific to each stage of development, the importance of music selection, creative imagery within the classroom and understanding principles of improvisation for young children. These workshops can be on-site at your studio or at our Los Angeles-Based Studio. Please contact us for more details, pricing and schedules for spring and summer 2018 workshops.
TWINKLE TOES TEACHER LAB//Arts Integration for Classroom Teachers
Twinkle Toes Dance offers partnerships with LA schools to integrate dance and performing arts into academic curriculum. Our programs are based on the VAPA standards for the state of California and are aimed at schools in underserved communities where arts education programs tend to be scarce. We are deeply committed to helping all children gain exposure to the arts and confidence through creative self expression- proven to improve academic progress. Our staff development symposiums give classroom teachers the creative skills they need to incorporate dance and performing arts into the classroom and creates a platform to collaborate with peers to foster their own creative ideas.
Twinkle Toes teaching artists are available for workshops within the classroom. We offer " Life Cycle of the Butterfly" science and dance program for K-2 and "Musical Numbers" a musical theater and math class for grades 2-4. Please contact artistic director Karen Gladis at firstname.lastname@example.org for more detailed information and booking. We look forward to partnering with you to share dance and the arts with your students!
